JY BioMed, a Taiwan-based multi-platform biotech company, today announced that preclinical research on Gamma Delta T (γδ T) cell therapy, conducted jointly with our academic partner Taipei Medical University (TMU), was presented in poster form by the TMU team at the 2026 World Congress of Pharmacy (WCP 2026) in Melbourne, Australia. In an orthotopic glioblastoma (GBM) animal model, intracranial administration of γδ T cells reduced tumor imaging signal to undetectable levels in the highest-dose group. This milestone was jointly enabled by JY BioMed as the technology originator, SL Science Holding Ltd. (Nasdaq: SLBT) as the global clinical development partner, and Taiwan-listed HeXun Biosciences Co., Ltd. (TPEx: 6986) as the manufacturing partner.

Intracranial γδ T Cells Eliminate Tumor Signal, with Dose-Dependent Response and Repeat Dosing Validated
Glioblastoma (GBM) is one of the most aggressive primary brain cancers, with a strong tendency to recur and poor prognosis even after surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy — leaving a long-standing unmet need for effective new therapies. According to the data presented, intracranial administration of γδ T cells in an orthotopic GBM model significantly suppressed tumor growth; in the highest-dose group, bioluminescence imaging (BLI) tumor signal was completely eliminated to undetectable levels post-treatment, demonstrating a clear dose-dependent antitumor response. The feasibility of repeat intracranial dosing was also verified, and treated animals showed prolonged survival. Hematology and serum biochemistry analyses revealed no major safety signals, supporting the preclinical safety profile of the therapy.
JY BioMed as the Technology Source, Connecting Nasdaq-Level Clinical Development and Domestic Manufacturing
γδ T cells recognize and eliminate cancer cells in an HLA-independent manner, bypassing the immune-evasion pathways commonly seen in solid tumors. Combined with their potential for scalable manufacturing and allogeneic development, γδ T cells are regarded by us as one of the most important directions in next-generation immune cell therapy. As the core of the group's technology IP, we hold and out-license the γδ T platform technology. Global clinical development is being advanced by SL Science Holding Ltd. (Nasdaq: SLBT), while manufacturing is undertaken by Taiwan-listed HeXun Biosciences Co., Ltd. (TPEx: 6986) under a CDMO model. This forms a fully vertically integrated division of labor spanning technology origination, international clinical development, and commercial-scale manufacturing, with each partner playing a distinct role. With the clinical development and manufacturing partners connected to the U.S. and Taiwan capital markets respectively, the platform technology we hold now has a complete pathway from the laboratory to global commercialization.
"JY BioMed's position is that of a technology originator — we advance Taiwan-originated cell therapy technologies through our long-term collaboration with Taipei Medical University, and we connect the full value chain from R&D to international clinical development and manufacturing scale-up," said Dr. Ethan Shen, Founder and Chairman of JY BioMed. "Seeing complete elimination of brain-tumor signal in the highest-dose group in a preclinical model is a powerful validation of the strength of the γδ T platform. As each link in this value chain falls into place, the value of Taiwan-originated technology will also be recognized on the international stage."
Multi-Platform Progress Building JY BioMed's Long-Term Value
Beyond γδ T, our other technology platforms — including heavy-chain antibody drug conjugates (HCAb-ADC), umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stem cells (UC-MSC), and exosomes — are all being advanced under the same "technology originator + international commercialization partner" model. Through long-term academic collaborations with Taipei Medical University spanning ADC, GDT, UC-MSC, and other platforms, we are accelerating an end-to-end pipeline layout from research discovery to clinical development, laying the foundation for future international licensing and long-term value realization.
